Tämä artikkeli kertoo Ruotsin maakunnasta. Sanan muista merkityksistä katso Hälsingland (täsmennyssivu).

Hälsingland[3] (joskus myös suom.Helsinglanti[4][5]) on yksi Ruotsin maakunnista. Se sijaitsee Keski-RuotsissaNorlanninpääalueella. Hälsinglandin pinta-ala on 14 ,1 km².[2] Vuoden lopussa maakunnassa oli asukasta,[1] joten väestötiheys oli 9,1 asukasta neliökilometriä kohti. Prinsessa Madeleine on Hälsinglandin herttuatar.

Luonnonmaantieteellisesti ilmaistuna maakunta sijaitsee Pohjanlahden länsirannalla. Naapurimaakuntia ovat Gästrikland, Taalainmaa, Härjedalen ja Medelpad.

Maakunnan korkein kohta on Garpkölen, joka kohoaa metrin korkeuteen. Suurin järvi on puolestaan Dellensjöarna, ja kaupungeista/taajamista suurin on Hudiksvall.

luvulta asti on uskottu, että Suomen pääkaupunki Helsinki on saanut nimensä Hälsinglandin maakunnasta muuttaneiden keskiaikaisten uudisasukkaiden mukaan.[6] Kuitenkin uudemman murretutkimuksen perusteella uudisasukkaat tulivat Uplannista ja sen lähiseuduilta.[7]
